Workers overview

What a Worker is, how to create one, and how its dashboard, widgets and data tiles work, including refreshes that run without AI.

A Worker is a dashboard plus a chat. The dashboard keeps your numbers, notes, calendar, reminders and tasks on one surface. The chat builds that dashboard with you, answers questions and takes on work you delegate. A Worker can be yours alone or shared with a team.

Your Personal Worker

Everyone gets a Personal Worker on their first visit. It is meant for your own day: plans, notes, reminders and the numbers you track. You can rename it.

Warning

If you delete your Personal Worker, it is not created again. Its tiles, notes and tasks go with it.

Create a Worker

  1. 1In the sidebar, click Workers, then New Worker.
  2. 2Under What should this worker do for you?, describe the job in a sentence, for example “Keep my sales pipeline honest every morning and prep me for meetings”.
  3. 3Optionally pick a Closest fit: Personal, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering & IT or Customer Support. Choose Something else if none fits.
  4. 4Optionally click Name it yourself. Otherwise the Worker proposes a name.
  5. 5Click Create Worker.

The Worker opens a conversation and sets itself up with you. It asks about the job, looks at the sources you have connected and proposes the first tiles. See Starter packs.

The Worker page

The dashboard fills the middle and the Worker chat sits on the right. The buttons in the header open:

  • Open board: the work board, with a badge when something needs you. See Tasks and delegation.
  • About this worker: the Worker's profile (purpose, who it is, sources, rhythm, vocabulary, tone). Click Edit in chat to change it.
  • Usage: chat turns, tokens, healthy widgets, sub-agent runs, approvals, task runs and things built.
  • Activity: what people and the Worker changed. See Toolbox and members.
  • All widgets: every widget in the Worker, pinned or not.
  • Share: the Worker's members.

Data tiles refresh without AI

When you ask for a number or a table, the Worker saves a data recipe and builds the tile on it. A recipe is read-only. It can be:

  • a read action in a connected app, such as open deals in HubSpot or unread mail;
  • a single SQL query that only reads (SELECT) from a connected database;
  • a table from a file: an export, a file you uploaded to the chat, or a spreadsheet in a connection;
  • a replay of an analysis you did in chat.

The tile then refreshes on its own schedule by running the saved recipe. No AI model is involved, so refreshes cost no credits and the numbers do not drift between runs. Relative dates such as “the last 7 days” are worked out at each refresh. The footer says when the tile was last refreshed.

If a tile keeps failing, it dims and its footer reads Stale — last good data with a time. It also appears on the board under Needs you. Ask the Worker to check it, or reconnect the source. A tile that reads from someone's own account says Runs as and the address.
