Skills

Skills are reusable prompt snippets you attach to agents and workflow steps, so one instruction is written once and applied everywhere it is needed.

La documentation existe en anglais et en turc, comme l'interface de Harmona. Cette page est affichée en anglais.

A skill is a short instruction you write once and attach wherever it is needed, such as how to format an email or how to cite sources. Its text is added to the system prompt of every agent or workflow step it is attached to. Skills live in Studio > Skills.

System and custom skills

KindWhat it isWhat you can change
SystemA skill Harmona ships for every organizationIts prompt, for your organization only. Name, description and category stay fixed.
CustomA skill someone in your organization createdEverything, if you have manage access

A system skill you changed shows Modified. Open it and click Restore to default to go back to Harmona's version at any time.

Create a skill

  1. 1In Skills, click Create Skill.
  2. 2Enter a Name and a short Description of what the skill makes the model do.
  3. 3Pick an Icon and, optionally, a Category.
  4. 4Write the Prompt snippet as direct instructions to the model.
  5. 5Click Create Skill.

Changes to a skill apply everywhere it is attached. When you delete a skill, the agents and workflow steps that used it simply stop applying it.

Attach a skill

  • To an agent: open the agent, click Configure > Skills, select the skills and save.
  • To a workflow step: open an Ask Harmona step, open its Skills section and select the skills. They apply from the next run.

Writing a good skill

  • Keep one skill to one job. "Format the answer as an HTML email" and "Cite every source" are two skills.
  • Write instructions, not a description. Say what the model should do.
  • Put anything specific to one agent in that agent's system prompt instead of a skill.

Astuce

Once the right skills are attached, keep the agent's system prompt short. The skills carry the shared guidance; the prompt only needs what is specific to that agent.

Find a skill

Search by name or by prompt text, and filter by kind (All Skills, Custom, System) or by category. Skills are shared like other assets; see Sharing and access. With Can view access you can read a skill but not change it.

Astuce

Give every skill a category. Categories keep the list organized and make skills much easier to find as your library grows.
